What's New

In this Wappler update we have made a major reorganization of the Wappler tours to better align with user onboarding and learning goals, as well as to create clearer comparison hubs for users coming from other platforms or looking to understand Wappler's advantages.

Furthermore we have made many improvements to the tours content, structure, and discovery, as well as updating the underlying tooling and reporting to reflect the new organization.

Also we have made some improvements to the Server Connect tours to use the Demo Projects HQ as sample project, so you can see in a real world project how to use those.

The Problems Panel has received also some great improvements based on the user feedback, with smarter issue targeting, clearer messages, better organization, and more control on when to run the scans, so you can find and fix issues in your projects faster than ever before.

The Project Assets Updater has also been improved with better performance, reliability, and user experience, making it easier to keep your project assets up to date and compatible with the latest Wappler features.

The Wappler Welcome Screen has been updated with a clearer onboarding entry point and a more user-friendly design, making it easier for new users to get started with Wappler and find the resources they need.

Reorganize Wappler tours into onboarding-first learning paths and comparison hubs

Restructured the Wappler tour system around a more user-centric learning journey instead of a flat topic list.

  • Main user-facing changes:

    • Added a clearer onboarding path for new users, including a first-success flow, guided onboarding, and a stronger "Why Wappler" introduction.
    • Reworked the main Docs & Tours Index so users can browse by learning goal, product area, and recommended starting points.
    • Expanded "Start Here" and beginner guidance to better cover first project setup, first page/layout work, first dynamic data flow, and preview/publish handoff.
    • Improved project, pages, workflows, database, file manager, git, App Connect, and Server Connect tour coverage so these areas are easier to enter from overview, quick overview, usage, how-to, and reference paths.
    • Strengthened onboarding inside the UI with guided entry points from the welcome/project manager flow and clearer tour discovery from the global toolbar.
  • New migration and positioning content:

    • Added a dedicated "Switching to Wappler" family for users coming from Bubble, Webflow, WordPress, and code-first backgrounds.
    • Added stronger user-facing comparisons that explain Wappler’s advantages in ownership, portability, hosting freedom, maintainability, and reduced lock-in.
    • Added conceptual tours covering:
      • why ownership matters
      • why teams move away from lock-in and plugin churn
      • why Wappler AI is stronger than bare editor AI
      • why Copilot inside Wappler is stronger than bare Copilot in VS Code
  • Expanded AI comparison coverage:

    • Added an AI comparison hub plus dedicated comparison tours for multiple AI editors and assistants.
    • Positioned Wappler AI as an architecture-level assistant rather than only a file-and-diff coding helper.
    • Clarified the distinction between bare editor AI, Copilot inside Wappler, and Wappler AI’s product-aware guidance.
  • Information architecture and docs alignment:

    • Reworked the manual/docs blueprint to be beginner-first and more export-friendly.
    • Added broader “browse by goal and reference” structure, including how-to, reference, and product-area indexes.
    • Updated planning, mapping, and reporting artifacts so tour coverage, manual structure, and generated indexes stay aligned.
  • Validation and tooling:

    • Updated tour validation/index tooling to reflect the reorganized tour set and regenerated coverage/status reports.
    • Regenerated derived tour index/report outputs to match the new onboarding and comparison structure.
  • Other improvements:

    • Revisited the Server Connect tours to be using the Demo Projects HQ as sample to explain their actions
    • Updated tour usage and validation
    • Improved the Demo Projects HQ tour
    • Improved tours implementation and testing
    • Improved the Database Delete Tour
    • Improved tours automation
    • Improved tours setup and export of partial screenshots
    • Do not always load Demo Real Estate project when calling the tours index

Problems Panel

  • Improved Problems panel performance to reduce CPU and memory usage during background scanning.
  • Added a new global Auto Scan Problems option, so you can choose whether Problems scanning starts automatically for projects by default.
  • Redesigned the Problems toolbar with a clearer play/pause control for scanning, making it easier to pause background work and resume it when needed.
  • Improved the scanning flow to focus more on the active editor first, reducing intrusive background work while still keeping diagnostics useful and responsive.
  • Added smarter full-project scan behavior so resuming scanning on a project that has not been fully scanned yet now correctly triggers a full validation pass.
  • Fixed project switching behavior while scanning is paused, so resuming on a different project now starts with the correct scan state instead of reusing stale results.
  • Improved worker lifecycle management and cleanup to reduce unnecessary memory usage and prevent stale background validation processes from lingering.
  • Kept existing Problems results visible when scanning is paused, so stopping background scans no longer clears the current view unnecessarily.
  • Refined Problems panel behavior to avoid unexpectedly switching the current view during focused scans.
  • Cleaned up the internal Problems architecture so the global Problems panel now owns its scanning state and runtime behavior more consistently, making the feature more reliable and easier to maintain.
  • Do now show errors count when there is none
  • Do not try to scan projects without server model for server connect errors
  • Do not count App Connec tdata binding header tags as empty when they solely rely on the Data Bindings
  • Improve selection of issues to open and slect the code only if manually clicked on. So no more auto selection.

Project Assets Updater

  • Improved update check performance for project assets, making App Connect and Server Connect scans much faster in everyday use.
  • Moved asset update detection off the main UI thread, so Wappler stays responsive while checking for available updates.
  • Reduced unnecessary heavy file comparisons during update checks, lowering CPU and disk usage on larger projects.
  • Improved the experience for Git-based projects, where file timestamps often change and previously triggered more expensive validation work.
  • Delivered a smoother and more responsive workflow when checking, reviewing, and applying project asset updates.

Wappler Welcome Screen

  • Improved the welcome screen layout so the main actions are easier to see and fit more comfortably in the available space.
  • Added a clearer onboarding entry point by making the “New to Wappler?” section clickable and directly connected to the guided tour.
  • Introduced a first-time prompt that invites new users to start the guided onboarding tour in a more natural and user-friendly way.
  • Refined the visual design of the onboarding actions with clearer icon styling and stronger Wappler color accents for better distinction.

  • Improved commit handling with author details and optional version tagging
  • Strengthened remote validation and merge conflict handling for a smoother workflow
  • Make hover color same as rest of Wappler
  • Updated branch switching and fetch
  • Optimized for speed and reliability
