Using UTF-8 and German Umlauts on IIS

I tried to create a table with a add button and the german text “Hinzufügen”.

Her the the Code:

<!doctype html>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
  <script src="../dmxAppConnect/dmxAppConnect.js"></script>
  <script src="../js/jquery-3.3.1.slim.min.js"></script>
  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../fontawesome4/css/font-awesome.min.css">
  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, shrink-to-fit=no">
  <script src="../dmxAppConnect/dmxDataTraversal/dmxDataTraversal.js" defer=""></script>
  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../bootstrap/4/css/bootstrap.min.css">
  <script src="../dmxAppConnect/dmxBootstrap4Navigation/dmxBootstrap4Navigation.js" defer=""></script>
  <body is="dmx-app" id="listNaviLogin">
    <dmx-serverconnect id="ListDom4000Login" url="../dmxConnect/api/Security/listDom4000login.aspx"></dmx-serverconnect>
      <nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-dark bg-dark justify-content-end">
        <a class="navbar-brand ml-auto" href="#">Navbar</a>
        <button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbar1_collapse" aria-controls="navbar1_collapse" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
          <span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
        <div class="collapse navbar-collapse justify-content-end" id="navbar1_collapse">
          <div class="navbar-nav">
            <a class="nav-item nav-link active" href="#">Home</a>
            <a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">About</a>
            <a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Contact</a>
      <div class="container">
        <div class="row">
          <div class="col">
              <div class="table-responsive">
                <table class="table table-striped table-bordered table-hover">
                      <th>Mitarbeiter lt. Domus NAVI</th>
                  <tbody is="dmx-repeat" dmx-generator="bs4table" dmx-bind:repeat="" id="tableRepeat1">
                      <td dmx-text="$index+1"></td>
                      <td dmx-text="BenutzerLogin"></td>
                      <td dmx-text="BenutzerName"></td>
                        <button class="btn btn-sm btn-outline-dark" type="submit"><i class="fa fa-user"></i> Hinzufügen
    <script src="../bootstrap/4/js/popper.min.js"></script>
    <script src="../bootstrap/4/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>

The text is correctly rendered in Wappler Preview Mode. In the web browser (Safari/Chrome/Firefox) I get “Hinzufügen”. The web server is Windows 2016 IIS

What am I doing wrong?

Your code is working perfectly fine in my browsers.
Can you send us a link to your page where we can check this?

Edit: I changed the domain name for security reasons.

I am afraid i don’t have access to your intranet :slight_smile:

Uups, I will check this…

I updated the link… It should work now.

So your local file shows properly the symbol?
Can you try downloading the file from the server and check if it is corrupted in the code?

This is the local Wappler Preview. I just updated the file and uploaded it to the server. Theres is no difference. Can it be a configuration problem of the IIS?

What i mean is - in code view, what do you see in the local file and then if you download the one from server - what do you see in code view?

I think I misunderstood you.

…the server version was the browser code view.

The original file on the server is exactly the same as the one I have locally (like local screenshot). The file is not corrupted.

Does it make any difference if you save your page as HTML and upload to the server? Is it still broken?

I just found the solution: It was a misconfiguration of .NET Globalization on IIS.

I had:

It should be:
