Tired to pay to be a tester

Disclaimer: It's not a nagging topic, but a constructive critic from a PRO Company License holder and an active member of Wappler's community.

Development quality
For last 6 months I see a huge regression in Wapplers updates. At this very moment I can't use Wappler as web-development tool, because it's core feature is simply not working - Unable to save the project target. Bug Report #1719820844873 - #3 by Notum

I really tired to explain to Wapplers development team why their product is not working as needed: Wappler overwrites dynamic names - #11 by famousmag
I'm sharing my own time between to be a web-developer and QA tester. Specifically this issue "most likely" was cause by migrating to AC2 - which also wasn't tested properly by Wappler's Team.

No up-to-date roadmap
Wappler Roadmap 2022/2023 and beyond - topic was created in 2022. Where is roadmap for 2024 and beyond?
Me as client doesn't know what to expect from Wappler's team because:

Community ignorance
Passport.js integration - this 4 years topic is one of the top-voted features. What progress do we have so far? None. Instead in latest updates Wappler team implemented Leafet maps which wasn't in the road map at all.

Flow arguments table size - ignored by Wappler team.

Recenty I've overview one of my Wappler proejct and saw this:

We are using Docket Sockets connection to deploy web-sites to our owned on-premise virtual-machines which are created by our IT department. What's deprecation means? It will be not support in feature by Wappler or will be removed? Where is some explanation topic in forum about this?

Again, I really respect and appreciate Wappler team for creating such wonderful product, but this wonderful project need to be supported and developed on a different, more professional way.
Stop see QA testers in your clients.

We have a little insight to that. After we had issues with Resource Manager and SSH keys we created a Bug Report and within the Thread (it may have been another am unsure but it was spoken about*) George mentioned that in Wappler 7 this feature will be removed and thus be controlled within Resource Manager (we had also previously used Sockets for our Docker deployments having been deployed long before Resource Manager was integrated).

Not sure if that answers your questions entirely though?

EDIT.
*It may well have been discussed in a Thread regarding Targets and changes to how they are managed.

As a show of support, I’ll share that I expressed the exact same sentiment to George in a DM exchange in August 2023 after a series of app-breaking bugs were released and AppConnect 2 iterated through months and months of customer QA cycles. After speaking with others in the community it seems most are resigned to accept that this is simply what it means to be a Wappler customer. I’m not sure it has to be this way but 11 months later QA doesn’t seem to be a bigger focus.

I'm also not here for destructive criticism, even without being able to complete a project using Wappler, I learned to love the tool. But the fact is that over the last year I've been trying hard to completely master Wappler to offer it as an alternative to my students and clients, but I don't have the strength to do so. There is always some reason for not being able to move forward and complete a relatively simple project. And in the meantime we are forced to pay for the tool since there is no free alternative during development, in other words, we pay to be guinea pigs. Right now I'm moving on to another tool to develop my projects. It is a shame!

I would like to write down here my point of view...

One thing that I really like and appreciate in Wappler is that I feel like it is OUR family business...
I'm not going to talk about paying because nothing in this world is free! Off course we pay and we are happy to pay for what we get!

I'm new in wappler (comparing to other users) and I remember when I started, if I recall correctly wappler 5.2.3, we had weekly updates. Everything was OK after each update, except minor cases that with a little care the problem was solved within the day or so...

Now, after AppConnect 2 was lounched, everybody was expecting these huge game changes!
But this had a cost, WE MUST BE PATIENT and wait because the hard-core of wappler has changed and almost everything works differently...

EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL THIS POINT...

But what I suppose is weird is that AC2 had been "declared/announced" as the official version that is supported/maintenanced by wappler team.
So on every question we have now, the 1st question is:
"Are you on the latest Version? Please download the latest Version and check if the problem persists"

AGAIN personally I'm OK with that, I'm stuck on 6.1.2 and I'm happy with it!!! No surprices, no huge problems... And I can do things that I couldn't even imagine!!
DO I WANT TO ENJOY AC2? YEEEES, I want like crazy!
But I cannot expect instant solution on problems/bugs while work on a "deadline" project.

Off course, we have to keep in mind that we are always asking for more and more, new feature requests and the well known "It’s Thursday thennn, Go Wappler!"...
Team is listening and trying to please us by making a better product

So, after all the above said, my humble opinion is that we should support/maintain a stable version.
And then as many of us have the time/patient to test/experiment on the new version feel free to do so and report any problems/issues so the new version become stable at some point.

At that point I would really want to thank everyone has the courage working on AC2.
AND OFF COURSE WAPPLER TEAM FOR THIS AMAZING SOFTWARE

Let's just DON'T FORGET... We are a family, we are on the same side!!

It's just a cycle that everybody goes through.

You hate it when you are overwhelmed at the beginning, you start loving it with the first click, you would put the team in an altar when everything clicks, you start to hate it when your brain clicks go faster than Wappler updates...

It's just like any relationship. Just don't stay enough time for it to become an abusive relationship. Leave before you start saying things you will regret and acting all over the place. Your time is better spent elsewhere.

And always come back for the community
