PHP server side rendering implementation

Hello Wappler Team,

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to ask if there are any plans to implement server-side rendering (SSR) for the PHP server model in the short to medium term.

I'm preparing to start a large-scale project for a client who specifically requires PHP, and having SSR capabilities would be a significant advantage. Before proceeding, I’d appreciate knowing whether this feature is on your roadmap or being considered for an upcoming release.

Thank you very much in advance for your support and all the great work you do.

Best regards.

No, not planned in short term, that's not currently in our high priority list.

Is any updates for PHP coming? Or I need to move to NODEjs

My best advice to you, what is available today is what you get :face_in_clouds:

My concern is my main Hosing dont support NODEJS. I dont want to move all to a new server.

Have you tried asking them if they can enable NodeJS? Maybe someone never asked, and they don't know either

Yes but they dont support it. So If i move to AWS or Digital Ocean I dont have email service. I dont really know what to do.

Can't you use e-mail service of your current one? Keep both services?

Btw AWS is expensive

Edit: If you just want to do simple stuff in SSR check this topic, not exactly easy but ok if you don't want to move away from PHP:

What hosting do you recommend?

Complicated question

I use Hetzner + CloudPanel + PM2, but it's not an easy setup

For you, I probably recommend Namecheap shared hosting, you can read more here:

Wappler Resource Manager can deploy to Hetzner shared services automatically. Real easy! You can also add the netdata service via Wappler for monitoring

Relatively cheap, reliable (so far, in my experience) and powerful

How to add netdata service??

I use a VPS with cPanel via my shared hosting provider. This gives me option to move email over to the vps or leave it enabled through the shared host's email panel (which is what i normally do) as they share the same domain dns records.

Deploy via ftp, no docker needed.

I have exactly the same. Some via NODEJS on vps service but normally use php on shared hosting. Also use cpanel and FTP, I never use docker even o dont know how to use it.

I feel like those who use PHP are left out.

All this AI stuff is okay, but there are some things we want. Server-side would be one of those.

I love Wappler, but this gives me pause. Why wouldn't it be on the list, with many asking for it?

As we have rounded up the AI integration in Wappler 7, we will be also adding more dedicated PHP support in the AI and we will definitely be adding the templating support shortly to bring it at the level of NodeJS
