I’m trying to understand the purpose of the "secret key" and what the "Use password hash verify" buttons are for. I’ve been going through the documentation, but it seems like the version I have is a bit different from what I’m working with. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

The secret key is an encryption key for the security provider cookie. You don't need to concern yourself about that unless you have a specific need.
Use password hash verify must be checked when using ArgonID password encryption otherwise it can be ignored.
And what about the basic Authentication? what is used for?? or how?
