As a new & fledgling Wappler user, I'm finding that the UI provides some built-in help, like the mouse-over "?" boxes. But there's still plenty of UI that does not provide help or even offer a mouse over explanation. For example, I'm just now discovering the awesomeness of using Notifications on my pages to handle success and errors. However, there are several properties of the Notifications element that I cannot find help or explanations for: Timeout, After Pause, Show Duration.
Yes, I could set up a test page to adjust these and see their affects, but having to do that many times per day, as I come across new paradigms in the UI, just to better understand the property, or definition, or acceptable values/ranges, etc., makes using Wappler less efficient and increases the steepness of the learning curve to productivity. VSCode is extremely popular in part because it has excellent tool tips built-in.
Not everything needs a tool tip, but there's clearly still a lot more within the UI that could be explained. Low code and No code development environments are a growing & competitive market. It's in the best interest of any company in this space to help increase the efficiency and reduce the learning curve of new users as much as possible.
This has been requested many times. It would certainly be a good idea and doubtless reduce confusion - and reduce the number of requests for help. There are certain questions which come up again and again, and which could be avoided with a tooltip.
I made a similar feature request a few years ago. Of course there were fewer Wappler users then, but nevertheless it was surprising how few people voted for it.
Thanks for the background Tom, and agree this would reduce confusion and recurring requests for help. There are so many components to choose from when building the content page, but not one has a tool tip to help me understand its job. I have to go searching the community, how-to's, and YT videos just to learn what it does. This is neither efficient nor desired from a user perspective. Thanks for your input.
There are a few (very few) examples of tooltips whch have been integrated into the UI, demonstrating how useful they could be. There are a couple of examples in the thread I mentioned.
