To me the settings were better where they were. Right by the target where I would expect to find them. To me they just look totally out of place in the top. Maybe if the text size matched the icon sizes it wouldn’t look so … I don’t know … distracting?
I initially thought the same but I think that’s just because we’ve always seen it there. If you think about it, most other software has the open project option at the top somewhere so this change does make sense. I think we just need to get used to it… and I don’t think that will take long.
The whole UI is looking so much better and polished.
The UI does indeed look amazing. Just the projects looks way out of place to me. Maybe if the font size matched the icon sizes or something. I can also see it being an issue if you have lots of tabs open.
But if that’s where it has to be I’m fine with it (even though to me it makes no sense being there) but there must be a way to make it more attractive or something.
Looking at it again … I think if the font size and icons matched in size and if there is more features planned for that title bar then I could see it working.
I really like having the project name at the top but also agree with @brad that it made sense having the current target next to the project name. Could the target perhaps be moved to the top too? They’re both critical things to be aware of, particularly if you’re switching projects a lot.
Possibly an outrageous suggestion but… what about moving everything from the bottom bar to the top bar? Then we gain a bar’s-height of screen space. And have the output and terminal appear from the top instead of the bottom so it’s logical if the buttons are at the top.
It’s not outrageous. Desktop apps come with a system app toolbar for that same reason. It’s lost space you already have so it should be put to good use to declutter the UI.
From the macos system menu to the workable area there are 138 pixels and from the bottom of the workable area there are 34 pixels which amount to 172 pixels.
That’s 16% of unproductive space on the y-axis. This is specially important as monitors are usually wider than taller. So 16% lost on height is a lot. Can you guys reconsider?
Tabs should be moved up. The whole project thing and themes should go to system menu as you would expect with any MacOS desktop app
And again please implement System Menu for MacOS. I know it might not be an advantage for windows users, but for Mac users it’s just the natural way to go.
I saw that and that is great. I work sometimes in full-screen when I am 100% focused on Wappler.
But for UW monitors where you might have two apps on your desktop side-by-side (ie Wappler+Browser for documentation, web tests, etc) you are losing a lot of screen estate. 16% is quite a thing.
