I’ve heared that you should use Div-Tags instead of Table-Tags for Tables to get a better responsive behaving.
But Bootstrap-Table uses Table-Tags instead of Div-Tags.
Isn’t this outdated?
Please consult the Bootstrap documentation:
Sorry I feel stupid again.
This article is about styling Bootstrap tables but does not answer the question why they use table- instead of div-tags.
Or did I overview something?
@I_Alain_I
I think you are confusing the terms.
Table based page layouts are outdated. We are using divs nowadays.
HTML tables have always used table tags. HTML tables are the right way to show data in a table layout.
Yeah. What Teodor said. It’s semantically correct to mark tables of data as tables and other layout structures as divs, sections, articles etc. Browsers and search engines really, really like you when you tell them what they’re looking at.
Tables used for Design and Layout is like hiring a prostitute to do your dishes.
Tables used for formatting tabulated data is like hiring a maid to do your dishes.
Prostitutes that clean dishes are outdated. Nobody does that anymore - or shouldn’t. It is messy.
I had no idea that “hiring prostitutes to do your dishes” had ever been in vogue!
I guess you won’t believe what most people have been using prostitutes for.
People who are staying in hotels, for instance – with no dirty dishes to clean – have to get creative.
“Hi, I’m a Website Designer from Seattle. Name’s uh, Doug.
Say, um … what is your, you know… rate-- for just a sink full of dirty dishes?
I’m here without my wife … so…”
I thanks you guys for clarifying that.
I will hire that maid then
