I live in Yekaterinburg, Russia. But I’m not marked on the map. Apparently because I’m the only user from this city. However, I see other users on the map from Russia, but from other cities. @Teodor, where are they from? :slightly_smiling_face:

Slight? Now that’s an understatement :joy: It is the one thing I hate about my English.

I should have spoken more of it with my parents when I was young. But you know… being a smarty pants as a youngster? Not cool. What an idiot I was.

Now I will have to convince my own kids to practice it with me. But you know…not cool again for them. I will embarras them in front of their friends. Karma I guess.

Back in 2001/2002 I stayed on a motor yacht for about 9 months, docked in Calpe a few times, loved it there. Stayed about 5 months in Denia, and then couple of months on dry land in Xabia. Can’t remember the name but there was a great restaurant in Moraira that we used to go to regularly. Oh happy days. Well, not really because I was recovering from a bit of a breakdown. The time spent in that region did me the world of good :slight_smile:

Wondering how many Wapplers are from my place. Also, the dot on the map is not accurate. I am from the northern part which is Luzon. The dot is somewhere in the Visayas.

Yeah, we have a Newcastle in South Africa, not too far away, not a place I would visit too often as they are a very Afrikaans speaking community, and sadly due to my Surname, which is a very Afrikaans surname everyone expects me to understand them, which i really do not.

Its a strange language similar to Dutch, however I have to reverse engineer everything said in my head, as direct translation is terrible.

ie.
I will throw a rock at you (English)
Afrikaans direct translation
I will throw you with a stone

Its a bad example but thats the sort of difficulty, and they are a violent bunch, so thats a sentence you would actually hear in general conversation.

Haha @psweb your explanation about the language and translations remind me of Die Antwoord, you’ve probably heard of them :slight_smile: their songs are a mix of that strange language and some English :smiley:
