Wappler not ending its processes when closed

Wappler Version : Wappler 7.0.0 Beta 18
Operating System : Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Server Model: Node
Database Type: MySQL
Hosting Type: Digital Ocean Docker Droplet

Expected behavior

On exit and shutdown of Wappler all Wappler processes/threads should be exited.

Actual behavior

Despite exiting the Project and then closing Wappler from the 'Task Bar' processes remain in the System Monitor (Task Manager), and not just a single process, there are multiple hanging threads.

Also upon opening Wappler a minimum of two instances of Wappler are opened despite closing Wappler with a single Project open previously. Sometimes three instances are opened... Should I create a new Bug report for this or does this suffice?

How to reproduce

  • Open Wappler.
  • Close Wappler.
  • Exit Wappler.

Open System Monitor and you can see the hanging threads for Wappler processes.

How do you close Wappler exactly? Do you really quit using the quit menu in the system tray or do you just click the close button of the Wappler window?

Hi Teodor,

I close the Project and then shutdown Wappler by right clicking on the Wappler icon and selecting Quit Wappler.

I must add that the Bug reports I have just added do not cause any issue with functionality (the refresh one is annoying but does not stop me working) and are not deemed to be important or urgent (to me at least).

to close/close down you have to right click on the wappler icon in the windows taskbar. And if you are on mac there will be a small icon up at the top right, can close it from there.

We have always shutdown Wappler this way. Been using it a few years now :).

I noticed the difference when I was switching between the 6.8 version and the 7 beta. You have to close all the way out that way before you can switch versions.

We only run the Beta and haven't touched 6.8 for months now. However do appreciate the input @baub

This should be fixed in Wappler 7 beta 22
