2 (I guess minor) bugs here:

Creating a new capacitor project won’t update web capacitor core (update button doesn’t do anything) .
You need to add the android platform and update that to be able work on 5.3.0 -
If you are on a project with a platform selected (like android) and try to create a new project, the platform “android” is selected (but not installed) and you need to re-open the project to be able to work with the platform toggle (you can’t select web either):
