Wappler 5 Release Notes?

Are there any plans to issue a proper final Release Note for version 5?
Or is there a post already that I might have missed?

I guess there is no difference between last beta and final.

There is no much difference from the last beta, just some minor resource manager fixes.

That’s not what I meant. I mean a complete list of actualy changes from 4.9.1 to 5.0.0
Release note of last beta was just for the last beta, not all beta updates.
And each update had other fixes as well. So just looking for a list of changes from 4.9.1 to 5.0.0.

You can find all the release notes here:
https://community.wappler.io/c/wappler-general/announcements/23

That’s more like logs than notes.
So basically a NO for a simple release note from 4.9.1 to 5.0.0. Ok.

Thanks for asking this @sid I was wondering the same thing as i’d stayed away from the Beta until it was released. Not to worry, i’ll just go read all the announcements, but it would be nice as you said.

Oh. So you meant for people that didn’t work on beta.
To be honest I treat beta as weekly releases so I’m up to date with every patch note.

The team should think about scrapping the beta period. There is absolutely no difference of quality between beta and stable releases. Now that they have experimental features for UI and beta channel for frameworks I see no point of the beta app releases. Maybe they could try and streamline both, experimental features and beta channel, into one.

That not a good statement to read. In other words, regular Wappler weekly releases are just as buggy as beta releases.

I checked out v5 for one of the event selection UI changes… once! (and haven’t heard anything on that so seems the bad UX has probably made to release). Will be updgrading from 4.9.1 to 5 in near future.
Hopefully it will be smooth. Scared of the utterly confusing resource manage stuff as well.

Exactly the same. Although I tend to view the glass half full

I haven’t faced a roadblocking bug in the last two years. That being said I’m not a dev shop so my idea of roadblocking is probably very different from yours that you have clients and tight deadlines.

Our clients are really great… so haven’t had any problems with breaking changes in that sense - but yeah, we have encountered quite a few scary bugs during our time with Wappler so far.

We don’t update our Wappler version every week, just to mitigate any unforseen/unreported bugs. This way we tend to deflect most nasty bugs… but when we catch them :sob:

Here’s what’s new in version 5, along with all the features added in the latest months in 4.x versions:

Link is caput.

What’s wrong with the link? Seems fine here: https://wappler.io/features/v5

Cached version(404). Sorry. I can see it now.

BTW @Teodor @George why don’t you release OS the code for wappler’s website? Throw it in a public repo. It would be cool for people to be able to check it out.

Except for the part of the account given it’s not based on Wappler.

Well it’s quite a simple staic site layout  Anyone can inspect it and check it.
I will explain in you in a PM how to inspect the source of a website, as i know you’re not experienced enough!

LMAO

It’s just a marketing thingy to tell people we “eat our own dog food”.
