Finally it is here! Wappler 2.0 Beta for you to try it out!
With superb speed, amazing smooth and responsive UI and top productivity - just as you would expect from Wappler!
In this beta we have greatly improved the UI. Now we also have a awesome new main menu and we also empower “Spatial Navigation” - a great new usability standard for keyboard arrows navigation in rich UI’s.
Next we have also finalized the new Project Manager, based on your wishes, and it has now a very central role in Wappler.
Also the Assets Manager and the new Blocks has being finalized, so you don’t need to enable the experimental options to use them any longer.
Finally a great new feature is that all video’s and audio - plays in Wappler’s design view, just as it would in the browser! So you can see those video’s directly without leaving Wappler.
More will be coming up in the next beta’s so stay tuned and deliver feedback in the Wappler Community!
Wappler UI
- New and greatly improved main menu now available on the right side
- Wappler on Windows now have a custom titlebar with own controls and nicely styled in dark theme
- Improved general styling of the panels and their borders
- Improved loading and UI rendering speed
- Optimized initial loading of editor tabs content - design and code view
- Improved panels styling
- Implemented spatial navigation! Now you have full keyboard navigation in the items in project manager and other popups
- Full spatial navigation also on the insert elements menu and assets manager
- Enabled smooth scrolling within Wappler
- Constrain the focus in modal dialogs
- Show Mac key icons now in the main menu as shortcuts
Design View
- Added full video and audio codecs support in Design View! Now you see directly all your movies playing just like in the browser
- New Design View is fully available now as replacement of the old one
- Improved inline text editing on animated elements
- Improved scroll wheel handling
- Keep focus in design view after popup panels call
- Focus on design view on or code view on tab switching
Keyboard navigation
- All UI elements and dialogs use the new “Spatial Navigation” standard for keyboard navigation with arrows next to tabs.
Project Manager
- Fully implemented project manager as popup window and replaced the old projects view
- Now the new Project Manager is automatically open on Wappler start when you don’t have any active projects yet or are starting Wappler for first time.
- Project folders import with drag and drop in the new project manager! Now you can drag & drop any number of folders or Dreamweaver site definitions, to the Project Manager panel and import them in Wappler
- Added sorting possibilities to the project manager. Now you can sort on recently opened projects (default) or alphabetical order of the projects
- Improved drag indicators in the Project Manager folders to show the exact placement with line
- Add open project folder in the new project manager
- Removed old project manager completely
Assets Manager
- Added sorting possibilities to the Assets panel. Now you can sort on files date or name
General
- Updated the chrome engine to the latest for best speed and rendering
- Disable file, server connect, routing and assets managers when no project is active
- Better align titlebar
- Assets and projects managers from the experimental no longer as experimental but as live features

- Fixed search icons in file search and code view text search
