I am in the same boat as you, using wappler out of the gate can be overwhelming however static pages are pretty easy to produce. Remember that there is no templates so you are building everything on your own. Dynamic sites are a much larger learning curve.
For example with Wordpress if you want a basic eCommerce site you can have something up and running with a few hours that is not the case with Wappler.
I will admit I am in the same boat as you are, I am ready to move away from Wordpress however due to lack of time I have not moved away from Wordpress but I really want to build an auction platform and when I do that it will be done in Wappler so that I have full control.
I know I am truly answering just giving you an opinion of a follow wordpresser that has looked to moving to Wappler.
Your site will load and perform faster, everything that can be done with a page builder in Wordpress can be done in Wappler and then you have the ability to extend your site beyond what you can in Wordpress.
I will say the first 1-2 weeks can be a steep learning curve and put some people off using Wappler but as you are comfortable with html/css/js that curve will be shortened.
I feel like it is a natural progression from basic page builder to a tougher page builder. Then the next leap is our current predicament.
The tough choice between Wappler, Pinegrow and Dreamweaver, or going fully custom which would just take too long for the money you receive.
It will definitely take longer without templates and it will be a hard pill to swallow for a short while. But in the end, if we can learn the ins and outs of Wappler, we would both benefit hugely.
Whether it’s wappler or pinegrow or whatever we decide to use, at least we will be rid of buggy WordPress builders running in the browser
I’ve used Oxygen for Wordpress for some relatively simple Wordpress websites.
Wappler is very different than Oxygen. Much more powerful in the web apps you can build.
Of course, absence of WordPress means a lot more work - but that is a boon more than you can think for complex use cases. Significantly better than custom coding around in WP.
Welcome to the community.
@mebeingken’s tutorials are a good way to get started with Wappler.
I would really love to see some tutorials on how to build websites like udemy, reddit, pinterest, etc.
By starting from scratch and only build the core basics of those websites we can understand super fast what’s going on and what function are repeatedly used.
This reduce my learning curve in bubble a lot.
I’ve been using Oxygen since v1 and also have Pinegrow. And I’ve built dozens of sites in Wordpress using all the page builders as needed (Oxygen, Elementor, Beaver Builder, Headway, etc.) but I am 100% set on Wappler being the No.1 choice for every project now. I bought into Wappler when it first announced itself on Indiegogo and, after a few months of learning, frustrations, confusion, etc. I then built my first site/web app. It did take a while to build because of the learning curve but I recently built a similar site from scratch in just two evenings. The end result is the fastest you could imagine and there’s none of the ongoing Wordpress update issues, memory hogging and bloat from page builders.
So I would say, dive in and go for it. Check out the courses, too. They’ll give you the head start you’ll need.
Awesome, I have to say, I am very excited to get started with Wappler. Will be diving in and learning very soon. I have big plans to make at least 2 mobile apps with admin backends. It is great to hear of others who have used WP builders too but now use Wappler. Thanks for your messages
