What does the Responsive Fonts check box do? Doesn’t seem to make any differences?

Must be a bug then. Checking that box makes no difference that I can see.
I have a NodeJS based landing page that has responsive font sizes checked and it works for me.
It only really came into effect for one part of the page where I had a display heading that was quite large. It reduces the size of the font in some of the smaller view sizes such as going down from tablet to mobile view.
I’m not really sure what exactly your expectations are, so maybe you are expecting something different than how this option works. Here you can learn more and check some demos:
