Sign in with Apple ID

Apple has released a new Sign in with Apple ID feature that works similar to existing social media sign-ins. I’m still reading the documentation here, https://developer.apple.com/documentation/signinwithapplejs but I wanted to share in case anyone else was interested in adding it to their website.

One thing that separates Apple ID from other social media sign-ins is their use of private email relay service, which is essentially a private email address. In order to communicate with a user that uses his private email address, the website’s domain must be registered with Apple to allow the emails to go through. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/signinwithapplejs/communicating_using_the_private_email_relay_service

While I am pretty sure the Sign in with Apple ID may not be as popular as other social media sign-ins, it still may prove interesting to offer it as another sign-in solution.

I’ve been following this too. Apple will start to reject apps from the App Store that do not integrate Sign in with Apple. This is only the case if you use other forms of social login such as Sign in with Facebook.
