SFTP connection with Wappler not possible
In Filezilla it is no problem.
Unfortunately, my knowledge of SFTP is limited, and Iām at the end after more than 10 hours
The error message:
Checking Connection ā¦
cd: Fatal error: max-retries exceeded
Executing Upload Synchronization ā¦
cd: Fatal error: max-retries exceeded
Executing Upload Synchronization ā¦
cd: Fatal error: max-retries exceeded (execl (/ bin / sh) failed: No such file or directory)
Can I ask if this is a windows or Linux or nix hosting platform please, also could you send a screenshot of your settings in the target FT window.
Be careful not to show your password in the screenshot please.
VPS Server!
CPU IntelĀ® XeonĀ® CPU E5-2690 v3 @ 2.60GHz (1 core(s))
Version Plesk Onyx v17.8.11_build1708180301.19 os_Ubuntu 14.04
OS Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
Thanks it is a VPS server.
The settings imported by Dreamweaver from different projects. Unfortunately, these do not work well in Dreamweaver CC 2018/2019 in Wappler. Here is the screen of a ātest installationā.
I have tested all conceivable variants, unfortunately without success.
The reason I am even wondering about this is because it is saying cd: ā¦ No such file or directory. cd means Change Directory, so it is like it is trying over and over again to get to the directory and failing.
Could you try change the remote directory to /httpdocs/
So just adding a trailing forward slash / and let me know if it makes any difference please.
All conceivable versions.
Plesk only allows FTPS (explicit) or SFTP.
I also tried an SSH key, I also checked the rights, etc. In Dreamweaver YES. Wappler NO. Filezilla - YES. WIN SCP = YES. Wappler - NO. What can this be?
Your screenshot shows that you're using SFTP. Have you also tried FTPS (explicit)? I imagine you probably have, but it would be worth trying if not. I use FTPS (explicit) and it works fine (that's what I use with FileZilla too).
(I know my server doesn't support it, but out of curiosity I just tried SFTP - and the error message about maximum retries popped up.)
I have now tested it on another machine and note: It does not work.
But in Filezilla immediately. Iām out, the project Wappler is over. I will finish the project.
Thank you for the attempt of help. Greetings Werner.
Thanks for this answer;
If I understand correctly, GIT takes over the FTP synchronization. So I could live with it and hope that it will work once in the future.
I would like to use Wappler. But the missing SFTP connection, now prevents the connection to the Datanbankserver
What should I do?
Well not really Wappler doesnāt uses Git yet - but with the installation of just for Windows some essential tools are included that you need to have for good SFTP - like SSH.
Microsoft recently also included those in the latest Windows 10 update, but those donāt work that well and are a bit broken
So by installing Git for Windows - you are just installing the right tools that Wappler can rely on.
If you were on a Mac or Linux you wouldnāt have this problem at all as those tools are there native included.
Is there a guide for this workaround?
I can not do an SFTP connection / GIT / Wappler.
If I understand correctly, is that possible with GIT? As?
I struggled through master & banch and SSH but I did not manage an SFTP connection.
You get every access to the test server to show that.
Currently I pay both DMX subscriptions. Those for Dreamweaver and Wappler. I like Wappler though
I have to make a decision. Happy for Wappler.
I think you understood George wrong. You setup the SFTP connection within Wappler and use the upload/download directly in Wappler. But Wappler relies on some external programs for it, these are not standard available under Windows and by installing GIT it installs these programs.
Thanks, that makes things clearer.
I thought there was more to it than installing and setting up GIT.
No, but it does not work anyway. Not even after the third installation of GIT.
Not even with an SSH key from Putty. (they work in Filezilla and Dreamweaver)
So no way for my Wappler to create an SFTP connection. (another is not possible under PleskOnyx)
So I come back to the first part of my posting.
Unchanged condition, no possibility, so not solved.
But it works in Dreamweaver & Filezilla also on Windows.
Thanks for your help.
Did you follow the installation of GIT from the doc? It requires a custom installation, just pressing next to each question will not work. It requires the commandline tools to be installed.
Yes I have, but I have not activated the optional checkboxes of the new GIT version (Beta).
Is there a test option?
I am irritated by the / cd /?
There is something wrong ā¦ in the FTP settings? Ports?
(execl(/bin/sh) failed: No such file or directory)
