Setting web root folder fails to copy files and retain the folder path in project settings

I’m working on an old PHP project (pre-www folder time) and want to add an extension. It’s not letting me do it because there isn’t a web root set. So I’ve created a folder called ‘www’ and set that as the route. It asks me if I want to move everything into it, I say yes, it moves most but then gives an error. When setting the web root it should move the files if that is chosen and then keep the path in the settings field.

What happens is most of the files are moved, an error is shown and then the field is blank again in the project settings.

And what was the error exactly?

Maybe try to catch it in a debug log as well.
