Saving project options

Wappler won't save and close this window. (you tube video in background).

This was changed few weeks ago.
Now Wappler displays “project options” as a tab and not as a popup

I’m sorry but I don’t see how this relates to what I’m referencing. I need it to ‘save and close’. it won’t, like in the video. If the videos are so different than how Wappler now functions due to updates, how does someone learn?

Well, like a usual tab works for all files:

Save (you can use control+s if you are on windows or cmd+s if it’s mac):

Close (also ctrl+w or cmd+w):

If the videos are so different than how Wappler now functions due to updates, how does someone learn?

The UI may change slightly, but the logic is pretty much the same along with the UI updates.

But remember, this forum was made for all kinds of questions, feel free to ask what you need, this great community will give you a hand anytime.

Ok. Got that. But I’m not sure it saved. In the process so far, the window would close after a save, or give me an indicator that it saved. The ‘save’ is what I’m most concerned about. However after closing window, I’m back in sync with video. I don’t want to go 10 more minutes in and find I screwed something up here cuz it didn’t save.

Well, you can close it and open it again and see the changes.
Also the json (of the project options) is located on your .wappler folder inside the project path

1. Right click on files and “show hidden”:
   
2. We have the .wappler folder visible:
   
3. We see the project options:

But remember you can identify if a file was saved because of this:

1. The filename doesn’t have a blue dot:
   

   

2. We edit that and we can see the blue dot (meaning that is not saved):
   

   

3. We save and now we can see the blue dot is gone (means it was successfully saved):

Ok. NO blue dot on any visible files so I guess that’s it. thank you.

We are also considering naming the save button from the project options editor to “Save and Close” to be more clear and indeed close the editor after the options are saved.

Well @George , indeed the project options don’t show anything about the unsaved document (blue dot) and it doesn’t display notifications on a successful save.
