I usually just have Wappler check for updates - and then the install is done by Wappler - since Version 2 came out when I check for updates nothing comes up. Do I need to go to the download section and do it manually since they are beta releases?
Yes you need to download and install manually.
Thanks Brad - did I miss that - I don’t remember reading anything about a process change?
It’s just for the betas. Once it is a final release the usual update process will be back in place.
OK, thanks!
At least on Windows, I can now upgrade in the normal way again - via the system tray Wappler icon:
If you are using a stable version, this won’t work Tom.
You can switch between stable/beta by downloading and installing Wappler from the beta/stable installers.
They don’t exist together on your computer - it’s either one or the other.
That’s stange - I just upgraded from 2.0.0 beta 1 to beta 2. I noticed the normal upgrade method didn’t work for the first beta, but it worked just now.
I certainly haven’t reverted to 1.9.9 (and with the new shortcut keys, that version will soon seem rather distant).
Yes - once on the beta’s you get automatic beta update.
If you are on last stable 1.9.9 then you get notification only on stable releases, like the final of 2.0 when released.
Tom, that's exactly what I am saying. It won't work if you are on the stable version and it will work if you are on the beta version.
Auto update:
stable to beta -> not possible
beta to beta -> possible
stable to stable -> possible
Sorry - I see. I think this thread is a little confusing. I initially replied to @brad , who was replying to @norcoscia, who said:
I assumed he was trying to update from beta 1 to 2. Anyway, it's all clear now.
