I have a DB query (multi row) and have added my columns, one of those columns is a numeric field called “quote” and I want to sort on this field ASC, when I go to my query builder “sorting” I am unable to add that field, any idea why?

What do you mean? Just select the column in the left side of the dialog and click the Add + button.
doh, how stupid of me, i was hitting the + sign (as sometimes that gave me a list from there of columns I could add, thanks for that, so stupid on my part
