I do not understand . Why do table rows disappear when I switch to live preview.

Along with turning on preview mode, you have also turned off app connect mode (:zap:) —leave both on and you will see the data

They are 2 different toggles, the first one is for App Connect and toggles the rendering of data. The second is to toggle preview mode and will allow you to interact with the page.
