So building out our own logging system is not the easiest or the safest thing to do in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong nay Sayers, Wappler does make it less crazy to implement one on your own and there is already a ton of other options like Google Firebase Auth, Node,js Auth, the list goes on. But Auth0 API make it so much easier than all the options to implement authentication I mean so much easier, But, there is a but, and this is because Wappler does stuff differently when it comes to using .ENV or dotenv files, and the integration for Auth0 requires storing your secrets keys and private key in a .ENV file and importing it into your middleware file that handles the flow. If Wappler add Auth0 just like how they add Stripe then OMG I will be popping Champagne.
The API is so easy I don’t believe it will be a problem for Wappler to integrate. https://auth0.com/ Wapple Team I desperately need this addition because I tried for two weeks straight to integrate Auth0 API into my Wappler project and I couldn’t get it to work.
I had to used VS Code to do it and that took less than five minutes to do in VS Code. But because Wappler Does stuff differently I still couldn’t run Wappler from the VS Code folder because there was a .ENV file in the root and that end up broking the whole Wappler server configuration.
So, I say that to say this. If Wappler find a way to make it easy to implement Auth0 to navigate the .ENV integration that Auth0 needs for it middleware that would be nice.
I have a client that needs this Auth0 for their build and I am defeated if I can’t find a working way to make Auth0 work in a Wappler project, @patrick and @George I know you guys are really really busy but please if you take a look at Auth0 docs you will ask yourself why haven’t you guys add this functionality already Just like we did with Stripe because it so easy to integrate, and all that needed is this flow for a Node.js project https://auth0.com/docs/quickstart/webapp/nodejs
