Is the “Latest PHP Version” always used as the default?

When I change the PHP version for my project, it works during the session, but after closing the project and reopening it, it switches back to Latest PHP Version again.

Is this the expected behavior, or should the selected PHP version be saved with the project settings?

I got where is the problem. The project is on BETA CHANEL I change to the stable and works now.
