Node Layouts - can't follow tutorial due to interface differences

Moving some old projects over to node/ DO which i am still pretty new to
As the conversion has pretty much been a copy and paste exercise to date I have not needed to deal with layouts, only views and partials
I have looked at Teodors tutorial on layouts and see big differences in the screens
Has Wappler’s interface changed or do I need to do another clean install?

Following Teodor’s tutorial from stage 3
He shows:

I see:

Note no blocks

Once page added
Teodor shows:

I see:

Then no ability to add blocks

At this point i gave up and did this post

EDIT: Seems like another reinstall needed, can add blocks on my mac unless someone has an alternative solution

The layout has changed, these were no blocks, these were just icons for the pages which we eventually removed, after users feedback.
So it is just the dialog has been restyled.

This (view component) has been added some versions back, in order to support node SPA and partial refresh.
If you want to add content on the layout page, right click APP and add it there, not inside the view/layout body content. This space is reserved for the content page layouts to be loaded.

So either click the App and add your elements on the main / layout page:

Or if you right click View, use the insert Before / After options, not inside:

I was just working through the docs and got stuck at this. Glad I found this thread. Could the docs be updated?
