New to Wappler - Docs confusion

Hi
I’m new to Wappler, so I still have at lot to learn here! (Coming from Dreamweaver…)
I have gone through the many docs describing the different workflows in Wappler. And I constantly get confused, because the screendumps look nothing like the interface I see in the current version of Wappler.
For starters the icons on the far left side is not the ones I’m seeing in the Docs. The structure of the menus and the whole workflow isn’t the same. Or so it seems to me as a newbie.
For instance: I’m trying to create a Server Action. Server Actions have no icon on the left side. It is under Workflow instead. And Docs constantly show me “Steps” when creating an action. I can’t figure out how to insert a step after “Execute”. Has this gone obsolete or ..?
Maybe I just haven’t understood the workspace in Wappler. But I’m really missing som more “step-to-step" guides” explaning a whole workflow from start to finish. Or link to related Docs to give a more coherent explanation.
As a total newcomer to Wappler I find it difficult to find answers to my questions in a clear way. Much of it no doubt comes from the different looks and structure of the actual version of Wappler and the screendumps in the Docs. To me it’s often two different worlds.

Hello,
Some of the older tutorials are indeed using screenshots from older versions of the interface, we're currently i na process of updating them to Wappler 7 UI.
Meanwhile you can check our youtube channel and the playlists like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_efYSy0zRVs&list=PLUjqTJN3byC9W9UFjsV9f9vefe_ZSFQfb

Yes, it's just the "steps" word does no longer exist.

You simply right click on the Execute in the actions tree if using the tree layout:

Or click the [+] button if using the flow layout:

Or simply drag and drop any action there from the actions panel:

Thanks for this info, Teodor. Those “steps” was driving me crazy  Nice to now I was doing something right after all!
I will take a look at the videos. Looking forward to getting to work with Wappler. I’m sure I will “crack the code” in a short time.

Great to hear the docs are being updated to reflect v7. @kim.biledgaard , we (the users) feel your frustration. I believe you will find the tutorials informative, but very basic. It’s been said many times that searching the forum is more helpful since many have asked questions and received answers that aren’t covered in the tutorials. Learn to bookmark/heart the great sources of info in the forum content. Also, when you need help, remember to use the icons in the post editor to show your code. The Wappler staff will often try to replicate your issue and it’s much easier for them if they can quickly copy/paste your code.

I’ve been a wappler user now for about 1.5 years so I’m past the initial steep curve, but not so far past I can’t remember what it was like early on. You will have great days with Wappler and you will have days you want to throw a brick at your screen. Overall, Wappler has been a huge time saver, but some of its more powerful knowledge and its oldest, recurring bugs are buried deep in the forums. If you’re struggling, search the forums, ask the community for help, don’t be shy. On the bad days when I need more experienced help, I post up, then walk away. Usually within an hour, I have a response that helps get me back on track.

Enjoy and welcome!
