As George points out you need to install a device image. Much the same as VM image but a mobile version. Can select from many including the latest devices and older devices too. You’ll find the panel located (in the toolbar): Tools - AVD Manager. Pick the devices you want to install and they should then be available to pick from as an emulation device for you.
Thanks guys. I am aware of how to add emulators in android studio. I have a phone and a tablet installed. Ever since I installed the tablet Wappler picks that up. How do I change back to phone in Wappler is the question.
I had to uninstall my tablet emulator in Android Studio to get the mobile back. But I think it’s a bug that the target device selection is greyed out in Wappler.
Try installing the Nexus 6 profile in AVD Manager Brad as am sure its something to do with this… No idea why but I vaguely remember having a similar issue. No idea why it would make a difference but worth a go…?
No luck, still greyed out. However, now Nexus 6 is my default emulator in Wappler. Seems to pick the last one that was installed.
I’ve just gotten used to using the emulators in Android Studio and xCode since emulators in Wappler don’t seem to be available for me. At least for quick emulating in Wappler I do have a default device for Android. In iOS the emulator doesn’t work at all.
Anyways, just hoping the guys will take a look at it. Until then I have a work around and it doesn’t prevent me from working on my app. Just have to use three programs. lol
We use Wappler for all design aspects (and Cordova integration obviously) and the terminal a lot. We also use VSC (Visual Studio Code) as our main area for straight coding. Some great plugins available in VSC and FREE too. Android Studio for majority of other tasks Android related. Through no fault of Wappler Android can be quirky and emulation quite stressful for memory, and hit and miss, so we roll with actual physical devices (scrounged a tablet and an old Samsung, I use a Nokia 100 personally, yep, non smart phone user here) for testing and steer clear of the emulation side these days.
