Within 10 minutes of opening Wappler 4.4.5 I create a recurring problem –
Buildinng or troubleshooting a seeming connection or workflow issue, for instance, a table does not show up with dynamic data in the browser – content is blank or page does not render.
App structure view seems to show everything in place.
So I want to inspect the connection and workflow components embedded into my problem php page next.
But, I must leave this view of my page & app structure to inspect & doublecheck workflow properties.
The whole connected STRING of connection properties to Workflow STEPS properties can not be inspected in a linear view from one place in Wappler.
To really inspect the whole connection to actions I have to burrow down through folder after folder to see the php file with the json string of actions my problem page refers to.
But even if I do not go to step 5) here I now have to hunt for the PHP Page that I created in step 1).
Now back in my Pages project folder or Files tab in my laptop I will only see 6 opened files. And no indicator in my lefthand navigator of which files have been opened and are in a tab currently.
In other words, it is hard to stay in a Workflow where i can inspect a page’s components in depth while still staying in the File Editor mode with Design/Code/ view.
People developing here must have assembled some procedures that I haven’t discovered where they never or hardly ever run into my rabbit hole.
I would appreciate if you’d tell me what I have missed, please.
Database settings I understand.
Since workflows attach to database connection files when I troubleshoot I doublecheck the connection file that I have named myself before proceeding to the workflows that are attached when a page is completed.
To work in Wappler I have to keep no more than 5 to six files open in any period of work.
To not lose sight of open files as I move to view, edit code, see in the web browser window, develop a webflow I must confine my open files to no more than 6 or 7 tabs on my 16" laptop screen.
If I left, say, 8 or 9 pages open I cannot access the pages whose tabs are now out-of-sight to the right. The project manager files view doesn’t indicate which pages are currently open, say with a dynamic icon or color, that I might click to see if this or that file is the one out of sight.
In the very top tab navigation bar I can’t browse to the right to bring up the hidden tab of an open file.
So, it will be my custom now just to keep an eye on that and keep housekeeping in order – closing pages, even if I will open them up 5 minutes later.
If Wappler had a Files Open Status indicator or Live List view where I could instantly see that I already have a file open whose TAB window is hidden on the right or at this STATUS LIST I could just click and go to reveal the hidden tabs That would be Cool.
