I don't think any of these points are correct and are perhaps due to a general misunderstanding.
With the exception of the Security Provider, Wappler doesn't generate any PHP code within the code editor. Also, none of the features and components available in App Connect require you to write any PHP. In some cases it may be useful to include PHP, and there's nothing to stop you from doing so, in which case, existing knowledge of PHP will be useful.
Wappler won't invalidate your PHP or change the way it works. However, you have to consider where the code is being run - App Connect is a client-side, Javascript framework; PHP runs on the server. I think this can be quite confusing if you've previously just used PHP.
That Javascript (exclusively) framework is what is confusing.
Even when a page is running javascript in a PHP page there are several ways to skin the cat.
You can do this with bootstrap . It will also accept PHP methods to pass some values from page to page that are happening solely in the browser Session.
What I am seeing is that my typical PHP snippets to accomplish something that is LOCAL to the browser on the machine & doesn’t NEED javascript is invalidated.
All the standard ways for simply passing a value in an URL can’t even be WRAPPED in a “don’t bother me – this is PHP” protection.
Javascript enables a million & one possibilities but once Wappler is RENDERING pages I must find a DMX-ZONE component & how to apply it or a Simple task can become a nightmare.
I am keeping with it – but even a knowledge of Javascript or JS query etc is not much help in Wappler.
Wappler is requiring integration of very complicated extensions that are hard to fathom when you don’t know the LOGIC that created the DMX-ZONE components.
Surely everyone knows it is impossible to simply VISUALLY compose a full app by using visual “tools”
I can’t imagine “Drag n Drop” for that matter.
What I could have done in 2 days before Wappler I am now 2 to 3 days behind creating.
Deadline Tuesday. So I have to Go Out for New Years’s & get back in the morning instead of sleeping in…
Whine whine … poor me.
I will be back at it 2020
Bless everyone and all your families!
Thanks so much!
