I know this is probably a basic question, but how do I publish my local developed site to the server.
I have seen discussion about a “Publish” button but can not find anything.
Is there a process / tutorial moving the files from local dev to live server someone can point to?
Hello,
First setup your FTP target: https://docs.wappler.io/t/setting-up-ftp-connection/5631
Then select this target from the targets dropdown and hit the publish button.
ah ha found it now, thanks for your help!
Anyone else looking for the “Target” to upload I have attached an image.

That’s actually changing the view in your file manager so you can see local/remote files.
In the doc i sent you it’s described how to change the active target from the target menu at the bottom of the screen.
OK, so Now I am confused. So in order for me to publish from dev to my ftp target:
These steps:
- Change the target to the live site
- Publish
And that is it. It already knows to publish the current project?
Yes, that’s right.
Also if your ftp target is selected in the targets menu, saving a file will auto upload it there.
Ah ok got it now. I did hit “Publish” - is there some kind of visual confirmation or progress that should show to indicate it’s uploading?
