any suggestions during development for hiding a site during build so client can review b4 releasing to public - i usually put site in a subfolder /newsite – then move to main folder when ready to go - but this messes up sub links
Ideally, you’d use a subdomain instead of a subfolder
It’s called a staging website
Even better and easier is to use Wappler 5 and the amazing Ngrok integration. No need for a staging or live server. Just ads web access to your local development setup.
I would never give a client access to my dev environment. They need access to a stable environment, not something that is in constant flux. Staging site is the way to go.
It’s just a temporary access. Client would have no access unless you specifically have it turned on. Unlike a staging server where client would have access all the time. Works great in my case where I just want to push an idea by my employer quickly before it even hits a staging server. Saves me a lot of work.
thanks - will try that
will look into that moving forward thanks
thanks for your reply
sub domain comes with extra cost and since temporary wont work for me - we ended up password protecting site for this client
