I have not used Data View in the past, but starting to use it more and more with the filtering capabilities it has.
So, where is a guide on using dynamic paging and sorting with data views from start to finish? I see a lot of different posts talking about it, but I can't get it working right. This is with an API data source.
What is your specific question about sorting/paging? Which part doesn't work for you?
Are you using the table and paging generators? It's really exactly the same as using a paged query. Just in the paging generator you have to select data view as the source in the drop down.
My questions are about paging, page size and sorting. I am used to applying these things to a sever connect file without using the data view.
So when I go to the table generator, I select the data view as the source, then select sortable headers, and select my query parameters from the state manager.
All is well at this point, I get my table populated. Now when I apply my sorting, where exactly do I configure that on, the data view? Here?
Am I choosing the right bindings?
When I try to sort, it does not trigger a reload of the data, even though I see the query parameters change.
Sorry, just need a little clarification. I'm sure it's something small I am missing.
No, you need to select the query parameter used to store the sort direction and sort column.
