Hello, I’ve been using Wappler now for 4 days and while I see the tremendous potential, I am ever growing frustrated with things that don’t seem to make sense (although it is probably something I’m doing wrong).
What I’m trying to accomplish is to build a dynamic page that will provide a dashboard view to a user based on the user role. The page has a MENU bar at the top and ideally should have a left SIDE MENU which acts like an Offcanvas but doesn’t completely disappear. It simply retracts back enough to display the Icons giving the user more screen space.
Every time I create a project and build the page, it does not show in the browser correctly if at all. Here are the following errors:
sometimes I get a 404 page not found
everytime I use a content or layout page (JS), the page loads but everything just lines up on the left side in a non formatted way and of course nothing works (menu options, etc.)
I tried creating the page using a HTML5 page and a CSS page, the page loads only if I manually put the name of the file (index.html) in the address bar.
I will admit the following:
I’m using Bootstrap 5 beta 3 local.
While I’ve used Bootstrap in the past, it is not my favourite choice since I’ve been using React+Material-ui in my previous projects.
Has anyone else run into a similar problem? How can I solve this? All/any help is always greatly appreciated!
Lastly, since Nodejs & JS have been implemented into Wappler, when can we see React/Material-ui being implemented as a Framework? Does anyone else feel that the 1 week free trial is a bit short for such a complex and expansive app?
Have you tried including the css in the layout page itself?
Would love to see Material added! Was also talk of Tailwind.
We don't think Wappler is expensive at all. Not in the grand scheme of software pricing. And not for what you get. The trial may seem short to those without prior experience of building dynamic driven applications, essentially if none to little is the case. Also if you do not have a plan for your application to begin with then just going through trying to create something without reading any documentation could consume many days with little outcome, but that is down to the user themselves... Can always go for a month subscription to extend your use for very little money.
Sorry Ken just acknowledged that above (EDIT: I read expensive and not expansive, for those reading this).
Yes indeed is incredibly expansive. Again if the user has no objective with what they are creating valuable time will be consumed just clicking ‘to see what this does’ will soon eat in to it. Prior to installing the trial it would be great if new users could be directed to the documentation and learning resources prior to the download, at least get some idea of how to navigate the UI… Then again we have been using Wappler for a while now and we still find new things every day…
They need to protect the business. With SaaS products you might get a 30 day trial but you also are very limited if not completely blocked out of the source code of what you build during the trial.
With Wappler on the contrary you get fully working code that you can host anywhere.
This means that if they gave a 30-day trial and if you were saavy enough you could build quite a complex site, get your code and host it anywhere. And the team wouldn't see a dime for it.
