thank you for your help.
do you recommend a hosting company in case i cant sort this out?
We have used Fasthosts for many years and upload with no issues on a daily basis. Wappler works fine with Fasthosts hosting plans and dedicated servers.
I helped another user a few days ago where the test was failing but the files actually upload. Try opening a page in your Project. Then click on the Output button at the bottom of the screen, and save your page, see if it uploads successfully…? Its progress will be displayed in the Output window.
wowowowowow that is right, that worked, is this a bug???
I spent 2 days trying to see what was wrong, firewall, fasthosts!!
All i need to do is:
open a file and then it starts uploading. is this right??
Correct me if i am wrong or i missed anything.
I have noticed also, that when i create a new project it does not allow you to create/enter the FTP server details all in one go.
After entering the ftp details the program keeps telling me “waiting for response”.
Seems there is an issue with the FTP test failing but upon page save the upload action is completed fine. Have experienced this a couple of times with different users, and myself a few weeks ago, so appears to have been an issue for a little while..?
@vfn would you like to create a Bug Report or would you like me to do so?
Really happy you have resolved the issue. Am sure the Team will look in to it and get it resolved promptly.
I've not experienced this issue but if it persists please create a Bug Report relating to it and describe the issue as best you can.
The last user I helped was not on Fasthosts but the FTP test fails repeatedly despite uploading fine, so I do not believe the issue is with Fasthosts. I too use Fasthosts and have no limiting on parallel connections at all? Have never had to make any changes to the defaults in my case.
HI George, it is setup as 1 paralell connection in settings.
do you recommend a hosting company as i have been trying to move for quite sometime, i have a couple of WordPress websites and even to upload themes is hard as they have max upload size quite low.
Any recommendations would be welcome, great if it works with wappler
regards and again thank you for your help.
Dave can you submit the bug?
Many thanks
v
So an update…
I have created an account with TSOHost and after using filezilla and coreftp they both connect very fast and the transfer is very fast.
when i try with wappler i get the same as before… i have done a little video for you guys to see…
if i upload single files they go straight away, if i upload a folder it says waiting for response as before, if i say publish , it says waiting for response.
i suppose the best way to do this is using an ftp program!!!
I don’t really understand what you are doing / showing in your video. So you started the publish process and then try to upload files and folders while it’s running?
so the way i understand, if i create a page and save it, it should upload it and whatever is related to that page, ie i have a page with pictures, then when i save the page it should upload the page pics and the framework , css etc so i can view it on the browser.
At the moment if i save it it uploads the page but wont upload the rest of files connected to it, i have to upload them manualy.
If i want to upload the folder with the css , it doesnt do it.!! i have to go to the css file and upload it, then it uploads the folder.
crazy!
i am also working on a iis in my network and it works perfectly…
i save a page and automatically i can see saving all the related files!
No, that is not how it is supposed to work. When you save a file/page and you are on a development target it will upload the file. It won't upload files like images on that page, or css files included in the head tags.
I just tested that on a remote ftp target and it uploads the folder and its contents just fine. Can't see any issue with that. There must be some problem with the connection to your hosting if there are any delays or issues like that.
Well, if your project folder is on your IIS server, it doesn't do any uploads. You just work in your server folder...
appreciate your time and patience explaining this.
I got it totally wrong!
1.so i create a project
2. add the folder location etc
3 wappler creates all the relevant files in the chosen folder
4 i add the ftp details
5 i create a page with text images etc
6 i upload all the folders manually
7 preview the page?
is that correct?
if i preview the page before uploading i just get a page without css
