Error: `Error: 429 quota

Hello, I have a question. When I integrate GitHub Copilot into Wappler (I also purchased the Pro version), I get the following error: Error: 429 quota exceeded. Can someone help me?

The best way is to issue step by step (smaller) instructions rather than one broad instruction

I'm having the same problem. I create a basic prompt like "write hello world" and it generates the same error 429. I've already changed the AIs and it doesn't work. What could be wrong?

Rate limit or prompt size is too large in both circumstances. What Modal do you have selected?

where do i check this information? thanks for your help

I'm not sure how you can see the logs for the AI Assistant in Wappler or even if they are available? Bit hard to know what is happening and why without them. Have you tried switching to GPT 4.1 and trying? Being the 'unlimited' LLM for Copilot it should respond to your prompt... If you are already using GPT 4.1 or GPT 4.0 then I'm not sure what to suggest. Maybe @George could offer advice on how to enable logging of the response so we can help debug the issue?

I managed to give a single command to the gtp mini 3, but then it stopped working too. I tried all the available AI models, my chatgpt plan is pro. There should be a step by step guide teaching how to configure and install it correctly.

Did you see this two topics that may help?

I got it on chatgpt 4.1 now. He made a small landing page for me, it was great. Then I asked him to create a section with 3 cards for me to put testimonials. It gave me problems again. I didn't do any commands or change between one command and another.

Is this a monthly quota? It is happening to me with Claude Sonnet 3.7.

As of a few days ago unlimited requests to the 'Premium' modals are now based upon a fixed quota (only GPT 4.0 and 4.1 are unlimited but are still rate limited). Although am not sure if the issue which is raised in this Topic is related to hitting the 'Premium' quota or is a different issue all together?

Do you also have the github copilot pro? Or pro+

Claude 3.7 is their heavies model so it is limited. You can try Claude 4 which is better actually and less limited or GPT 4.1 model which is unlimited and pretty good actually

To use GitHub Copilot with Claude 3.7 efficiently and avoid hitting the dreaded 429 "rate limit exceeded" message, here are some practical tips:

  1. Understand Premium Request Limits
All interactions with Claude 3.7 count as premium requests. If you're on a free plan, you're limited to 50 premium requests per month. Paid plans offer more, but they still have monthly caps.

  2. Avoid Rapid-Fire Prompts
Sending multiple prompts in quick succession can trigger rate limits. Try spacing out your requests—especially when using Claude for complex tasks.

  3. Use Simpler Models When Appropriate
If your task doesn’t require Claude’s advanced reasoning, consider switching to a lighter model like GPT-4.1 or GPT-4o. This helps conserve your Claude quota.

  4. Monitor Your Usage
GitHub provides a usage dashboard where you can track how many premium requests you’ve used. Keep an eye on it to avoid surprises.

  5. Leverage Off-Peak Hours
While not officially confirmed, some users report fewer rate-limit issues during off-peak hours. It might help to time your sessions accordingly.

  6. Enable Claude 3.7 Properly
Make sure Claude 3.7 is enabled in your Copilot settings under “Copilot Models.” Misconfiguration can sometimes lead to fallback errors or unexpected limits.

  7. Stay Updated on Provider Changes
GitHub has recently onboarded additional providers like Google Cloud and Anthropic to improve Claude’s availability and rate limits. Keeping your tools updated ensures you benefit from these improvements.

If you’re consistently running into limits despite these steps, it might be worth reviewing your plan or reaching out to GitHub support for tailored advice.

Point 5. might explain why I have been fortunate avoiding the dreaded 429 error; daytime on this side of the globe is nighttime in America and Europe. :crossed_fingers:
