I am 99.9% ready with my site…
My clients sites are all on php severs… with enough space… so we never went with S3 uploads as it was never required. With upload folders of 4 - 8GB… So i cannot “transfer” these now via … S3 or user digital ocean spaces… as loads of smaller directories within the uploads folder… and they might clash if I upload them to the same bucket … so many other variables that comes into play… the project is now converted to Node…
So the question is…
If my DO droplet disc size available is 25GB … and I upload 8GB of images into the uploads folder in the droplet… *This will never exceed 10GB in total… as “events” gets deleted and space made available again…
Would this effect performance of the droplet…? As the largest part of the site content is in the “uploads” directory… i understand the risk of losing the data and so on… but because we have gone down the path with php… i cannot tell the clients to redo the complete uploads folder now with S3 … whereby they will have to delete all their past “events” so its a no…
Would having a “uploads” folder of 8GB … in my droplet cause a performance issues… or would it be the same as if were to be on S3 or Spaces…
