Date Picker User Interface - forwards and backwards by year

The standard interface for the Date Picker has forwards > and backwards < arrows which change the displayed calendar to the next or previous month.

Is there a way to also jump by year?

You can use the “enable dropdowns” option:

Thanks Teodor, that will certainly be better than nothing. My client showed an example, very similar to Date Picker, where there were single arrows > for months and double arrows >> for years. Typically he only wants to go back one, two or three years. Is this possible?

No, there are no << for years. You can just limit the years displayed to +/- 2 …
