With the advent off being able to have multiple Projects open it would be great if we could cut and paste between them to share components and layout elements for example, as well as the other benefits.

How would Paste work though? You would need a Paste Before, Paste After and a Paste Inside option?

I'd just like Paste to be a Child of whatever Parent you have selected. That would work just fine in most circumstances. Easy enough to then drag it around in the structure as required at that point. Of-course it may not always adhere to the recommended and ordained structural principles (ie best practices) of the Framework but then that is up to the User to deal with... We've all ignored those at some point..
