Cannot Create a new Project

Wappler Version : 7.9.1
Operating System : Windows 11
Server Model: NodeJS
Hosting Type: Docker (maybe all)

Expected behavior

Create a new blank project that creates a layout and an index page

Actual behavior

Nothing happens until Wappler is refreshed and even then, there are no pages that have been created

How to reproduce

  1. Create a new project as normal
  2. Delete the new project and close Wappler
  3. Delete the new project folder using Explorer or similar
  4. Open Wappler
  5. Create a new project

In fact, this could also happen when Wappler is newly installed, i.e. anytime Wappler is installed for the first time. The only difference is that steps 1 - 3 are not required.

So you create a new project, delete it and then create another project? And this second one is not creating the default layout and content pages?

Yes, that is correct. But I also had an occasion where I deleted Wappler and the associated AppData files (in other words a whole new installation) where exactly the same happened.

Same behavior with Wappler 7.9.0

Right clicking the Wappler icon, I am confronted with this pop-up menu:

When I choose New Project Window I get this dialog:

Here I choose Create a new Wappler project which brings me to this screen:

This is where I choose Blank and a pop-up window appears:

where I enter the Project Name and click Save

This screen capture shows that nothing has happened, so I click Save for a second time with this result.

I don't think that I can be clearer than that to show the problem that every newcomer to Wappler is confronted with

Same here on 7.9.3
Windows 10/11

I am having the same issue on Mac. It actually creates the project files but fails to load the project it just stays static on the new project screen. Then you try click “save” again but obviously it wont because its already been created. This has been an issue for the last few builds

found the problem indeed on a new project creation from the Wappler welcome screen. Will be fixed in the next update - probably tomorrow

Fixed in Wappler 7.9.5
