Bug Report from NewMedia #2019-9-17_17-10-55

OS info

  • Operating System : Mac OSX 19.0.0
  • Wappler Version : 2.3.0

Problem description

I installed the latest Mac Catalina OSX today
No problems
Set Notifications to Allow all communications from Wappler app
I had the Wappler PRO 2.27.xx previous version installed
When I installed that version my projects files report showed that I was missing GIT & Docker
I downloaded Docker
Went through all steps until finally everything checked out
Docker Desktop installed
“Git is correctly installed”
Yesterday Mac said I needed an update of XCode
I took it, installed & THEN Checked to see if I had screwed up things in Wappler 2.27.xx
All libraries & Docker & GIT checked out OK

Now today after “Check for (Wappler) Updates” I get notification that 2.3.0 is read for download
I download 2.3.0
I quit Wappler completely
I click for Automatic Upgrade
FAILURE Something failed but Notification doesn’t allow me to see file path
Failure twice
BUT when I open Wappler it says that it IS Upgraded to 2.3.0

Yet this failure in “System Check”
I don’t want this to happen everytime with Docker Desktop
Any suggestions on best Update procedure with the New Wappler on Mac?

Steps to reproduce

3.

I opened Docker Desktop and saw the following setting
which I did nothing with
Is it possible that I can ADD here to make sure my Wappler install Sees it?

I stopped Docker and ran another Wappler System Check
and this is what it reports about Docker Desktop

Here is what my Wappler looks like in the Options view for GIT settings
Do I need to have the Github key saved here?

OKAY! Just been reading the Docker directions
So, with the Docker Addition I MUST SET UP Wappler to USE Docker
instead of Pre-Docker versions
I’m not sure the directions specified that this SETUP is MANDATORY from the last few versions
Marching through all the steps for the Docker Modification

I now have the “.Python” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be varified
warning–
macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware

Hitting the rocket icon was going nicely until the “Python” warning

Check this thread out …

Thanks Brad!
I just saw that reference 10 minutes ago and used TERMINAL to get farther along in the process but
the “allow apps downloaded from” setting “Anywhere” was checked but greyed out
I had to Open this security setting with password and when it was unlocked in the Catalina security setting I kept the check mark on and SAVED it
After THAT then I was able to get farther along with downloading of PHP files, etc.

Now I have this problem: I was installing all my projects inside the html folder in MAMP PRO so that I could view them in my local browser using the Mamp environment

I got an error about that location…

Okay – so far so good!

I went into Docker Desktop preferences as the Wappler mount errors told me to do–
Added the /Applications/MAMP2019 under Docker File Sharing and saved
Then re-ran the Deploy icon
and Docker added the necessary files to the MAMP2019 application
and we had SUCCESS for one project
I’ll now read the 3 part Docker installation docs and decide later whether I’ll transfer existing projects OUT of Mamp and rely exclusively on Docker to give me localhost development for browser views
