Bug Report from djeorges #2020-10-27_20-52-37

OS info

  • Operating System : Windows 10.0.19041
  • Wappler Version : 3.5.6

Problem description

It sems that we get always this error when creating a new server connect.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new server connect
    Add a databse connection
  2. add security provider
  3. create new query

The only way to get rid of this issue is to copy/paste an old server connect.
Something wrong with server connect globals ?

How are you setting up the database connection - are you not setting it up globally?
What database are you connecting to?

Please remove the dmxConnectLib folder locally, save ANY of your server actions and it will be recreated. Upload it to your server and test again.

I’m sorry Teodor, but i’m not shuer to understand what you mean.
I’m just making the observation that what was not a problem for me until now. It is becoming a big problem since this version or maybe the previous one.
If there is a procedure to be followed to get backwards compatibility then it should be made very clear before releasing a new version. Why sould i sundenly delete a folder ?

Because you might be having some old files which are causing this problem.

If you have experimental options on - you don’t have to add a database connection step any more but just select the global one.

If you don’t have the experimental on - then you have to link or choose existing db connection.

I am getting the same issue/error message.

The page displays correctly on my local machine but errors on the live server.

I have removed/recreated the dmxConnectLib as suggested but there is no change.

I have experimental features on.

When I turn experimental features off, restart Wappler, go to the Server Action, add the Database Connection, save, then everything displays correctly.

Most probably you have not uploaded the newly generated folder to your remote server if it works locally and not working remotely

I finally found the issue.
The issue came from the new functionnality “server connect globals”.
I very usefull stuff, but, if like me, you are working on a project started before this new feature, and if you still create new connection servers in the old fashion way, then you will have this kind of desagreament.
Hopfully there is legacy and i won’t have to rewrite all previous designed SC !
However, i really enjoy coding with wappler but I often regret the lack of pedagogical documentation.
Isn’t Wappler an application creation environment for non pro-coder’s ?

Long life to wappler !
