Expected behavior

Simple renaming of file in File Manager...

Actual behavior

The field (file name) blanks out except for 3 dots. I type blind . File name reappears eventually but is usually mistyped because I can’t see what I’m doing. F2 or Rename makes no difference. I am resorting to changing file name in Windows Explorer - which is a pain. I see onlinen that this is a known issue.

Hi Briar,

The panel width is the problem. If you increase the side panel width, and the filename fits within that width, it will display properly without any dots.

This behaviour started in the later versions of 7.x.x and it can make editing filenames a bit more tricky than it needs to be.
