Brand new Wappler 6.5.0 install results app structure panel with spinner

OS info

  • Operating System : Windows 10.0.22631
  • Wappler Version : 6.5.0

Problem description

I installed Wappler first time on my system (just started trial and a fresh download). I am running 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, hence installed the x86 version.
The problem is that the AppConnect window shows a spinning load symbol forever.
Here is a video of the problem. As I am not allowed to attach files, I cannot send you my log-report that was just exported.

One thing I noticed is that after uninstalling and re-installing I get a little note in the top bar that an update for “App Connect Summernote 2.0.1” is available. When I try to run this update I get this error:
“Error updating extension for stable channel: get_F7_2_TEXT_COLOR_VAR is not defined”
I also put you a video about it here.

So, basically, I am unable to run Wappler at all.

Things I tried:

  1. Quit out and open Wappler again
  2. I tried both default projects, both don’t work (see in the video)
  3. Uninstalled and re-installed Wappler
  4. Ran Wapplers System Check (no errors)
  5. I got enough RAM available

Steps to reproduce

  1. Installed App
  2. Open default project
  3. App Connect spinner loads forever

Can you just try creating a new project instead of using the sample ones to see if it makes any difference? Could be the sample projects just contain old versions of the scripts and need updating, as we just released a major update to our front end framework.

To test this I created a new project, named it, created a project folder and opened it. Then it installed Scoop, Capacitor, NodeJS and 97 other packages. After that, I quit out of Wappler completely, and started it up fresh.
Result: Loading still spins forever in App Connect window.

Nice little side info:
I was able to replicate the issue on another machine.
On a Win10 machine that never had Wappler installed I downloaded x86 from the website, installed it, opened, logged in with browser and opened the static default project: Spinner spins forever!
Then I created a new (blank) project, installed all dependencies and… Spinner spins forever!

We have identified the problem and are working on a fix right now. It happens indeed only on brand new installations only.

Hope to release a new Wappler update ASAP

Problem is now fixed with an inline extension update the Framework7 extension, which was causing the errors.

So apply the inline update when offered and it should be all fine

Wonderful!
Works like a charm!
Thanks for getting on this so quickly.
