I've just downloaded Wappler Beta 7.0 and the screen shows the name of the last project I opened at the top, but nothing else. I can't open projects or start a new one or anything really. I get an error something about can't get
Heather, I have been using Wappler 7 Beta for a while now, not touching version 6 at all. I have found v7 to be the exact same as v6, just with a different user interface.
For v7 to work, quit v6, as Teodor has stated, and open v7.
Moving forward from where you are now, re-install v7 and follow the above procedure. I can assure you; you will not look back.
Ok - I can now see the last project I opened, but I can't open any other projects as they're not showing in the interface. I can't open existing folder either as it just hangs and doesn't load anything. I can, however, create a new project. That still doesn't show in the panel to choose projects though.
I have been using 7 on a Mac exclusively without any issues. I don't know what the issue is or how to correct it. But there are two versions for Mac available. I'm sure this is obvious and I don't mean any disrespect, but is it possible to downloaded the wrong system version by mistake?
Probably not, just grasping at straws here.
I think you may be stuck somehow between version 6 and 7. Have you tried re-installing 7 and quitting it from the toolbar?
I definitely downloaded the correct version (Apple Silicon) but good thing to check!
I've deleted, reinstalled, restarted etc etc. It seems like there must be a file somewhere that has to do with the projects which is stuck but I have no idea where to look for it. FWIW Wappler on my PC is working fine with the same projects so I don't think it's anything in the project folders themselves.
Thanks for the suggestions. The files themselves are on an external hard drive running oneDrive. I can't run the First Aid tool on that because the drive can't be unmounted (requirement for oneDrive). Everything worked fine until I installed Beta 7 of Wappler, and as noted I can access those files without issue from my PC.
It seems more likely to me that there is some ghost file somewhere that is causing the issue but I have no idea where to look.
Check that you have enough space on your internal disk.
Disable Antivirus, ad blockers and other VPNs
Check in your settings that the system has not restricted Wappler.
Also check that your external hard disk is read-write (full access: you can create an ordinary folder there).
Try to avoid working on the external disk. Copy your folder somewhere on the internal drive (e.g. Document/MyProject).
On a PC, your project folder should contain a “.wappler” subfolder...
This kind of naming can cause problems on your Mac when security settings are too high. Under OSX, “.xxxxx” folders are invisible folders used by the system.
Make sure this folder is visible on your Mac
Open your project dir
Close Wapper
Re-start Wappler
You should see your project icon on the Welcome page.
If this still doesn't work, restart your Mac in Safe mode and try to open your project, noting the system alerts.
I was able to create a new project and copy the files over to that one. The only thing I had to do was recreate the target. Not sure what happened, but that seems to have worked and I can now see the projects which I couldn't before doing the App Cleaner so thanks for that!!!
FWIW - I've been using Wappler with OneDrive for years and I've never had an issue before.
