As the title suggests, wondering if anyone has had any experience using a 3rd party scheduler component (like a resource timeline view in a calendar) and what has been your experiences? (think Full Calendar Scheduler (premium), SyncFusion Scheduler, DHTMLX Scheduler
I will need to use a scheduling tool in my web app and don’t think that it can be built (for now) in Wappler, so I knew I would always need to look at additional plugins. Full Calendar came along, but for now it doesn’t have the premium Scheduler component.
Anyone had any luck using anything inside a Wappler app?
Any general thoughts or other Scheduler libraries/components/plugins i might have missed?
Any general thoughts or words are much appreciated
But you would need to check this carefully as Wappler’s integration might have a conflict with the scheduler and you wouldn’t be able to use Wappler’s FC, Standard FC and the scheduler.
Pricing is better adjusted as you are not acquiring a full library of UI components(SyncFusion). And license is more flexible than DHTMLX one in regards to functionality provided. However it depends on the app you are building -> Single app/SAAS, number of developers, etc
So if Wappler’s integration doesn’t cause conflict you may as well make use of it by leveraging data bindings, events, etc
Finally you might be able to help the team to integrate the scheduler in the same manner they did with Font Awesome Pro. That is, everything that is needed to work from a technical point of view but just pending the commercial license usage by the end user.
Now you just need to check which scheduler covers better your functional needs.
Great feedback Jon, appreciate the detailed response.
I was thinking along the same lines, in terms of being able to potentially capitalise on the the existing Wappler integration, but i guess i will just need to get my hands dirty and see how it will all work.
My development timeline is fairly long/flexible as i’m new to this so learning from scratch, and COVID has kind of put the world on hold which actually just gives me more time.
@George@Teodor Do you have any thoughts on how you’ve built FullCalendar into Wappler and if someone integrating their premium Scheduler component might be able to take advantage of the existing integration?
Thanks for the feedback @s.alpaslan I thought i had read your name in a previous post relating to SyncFusion. Was it the specific Report Manager component of theirs you didn’t like or just how their whole products operated?
