Action Server Email Sent (GMAIL) Example

Dear Wappler Team Members @George @Teodor

Is it possible for you to provide with an example of a contact form using “formToEmail” server action with GMAIL as the email server so I can test in my local server and try to find what is wrong with mine?

I have follow all documentation regarding how to build a contact form and email sent on submit event, but not achieving success.

I already deveolped my own gmail email sending function with php using phpmailer class and it is working without any problem.

My intention of using Wappler is to avoid as much coding as possible, but I am still developing outside functions.

I recognize that I am a rookie regarding web developing, but I’ve been developing Visual Basic applications and administrating databases since 2000, so belive I am not starting from zero.

I will really appreciate if you can provide with that example, so I can test in my local server and identify what am I doing wrong in case I am

Thanks and Regards

Wappler Community.

Is there anybody than can provide advice to make my mailer server action executes properly?

  1. I followed Wappler instructions - see documentation

  2. I was stuck sending no emails

  3. I set-up the php mailer

  4. you have to go to gmail to accept unsafe application accessing your accounts - please google a bit

I do not think google accepts unlimited emails sending (there are parties for this), but I am able to do use it for password request
I am in the middle of deadlines, so sorry for answering late

Peter

Thanks @peterbroekman

I've done all those 4 steps plus shutted down windows firewall and still not sending emails.

Regarding gmail setup, my gmail account configuration accepts unsafe application access since I created, because I send emails form Microsoft Excel VBA.

At this moment I'm trying installing a fake sendmail from fake sendmail for windows in order to be able to debug deeper.

Dont worry I understand perfectly

Thanks for your advice,

only thing still username was only the first part without the @gmail.com
but if you have a corporate gmail account not sure how that works

OOOKK!!

That is an additional consideration

You mean changing as follows:

Let me try

like that, hope it works, but if address is like that I don’t know … good luck!!!

And I did use SSL, guess gmail wants that…

Unfortunatelly does not work for me

Really appreciate your comments and time you dedicated to me

I this case I think it would be better for me to continue using my own mailer function.

Best Regards!

Eeeeey man!!!

I just added again @tennyou.com to the username

Aaaand it wooooorkeed!!!

Finally!!!

Thanks @peterbroekman I guess might be pure luck, or maybe it helps sometimes to just take a piece of code out and redo
