PS _ I’m here because of Bubble Bloody Wednesday (or massacre or whatever someone named it). Good timing for me - just when I needed to start a project, so I’ll explore here and hopefully come out ahead.
What kind of project have you started with? Normally XCode Tools are mostly needed on mobile apps.
Also the download calculation from Apple is not always correct and quickly jumps to normal speeds 
But hey dial-up is not a good idea
