Stripe is great for payment processing but i’m pretty sure lacks the ability to deal effectively
with the sale of digital goods and the associated complex tax calculations/payments.
I use paddle for that purpose as it is easy to setup and use, would LOVE to see paddle integrated as well…
From what i have read on Paddle’s website, Paddle is a merchant of record and they handle all the tax compliances for you whereas Stripe is just a payment processor and so it becomes our responsibility to register, file, and remit the correct sales taxes and comply with local payment regulations globally.That is impossible for small businesses like mine. Stripe doesn’t manage payments of tax using vat moss whereas paddle does.
Paddle is vastly superior for SaaS applications, just wish Wappler would integrate the api like they have with Stripe…
