I noticed the latest release included project conversion, node.js template to php. In my dreams I can convert my node.js into a desktop app. instantly!!
Being concerned about security and the slow collapse of global systems including the internet, oh should I say in my nightmares , I’m planning to convert a web based project I have been working on for 2 years and is near completion into a desktop app…
Is this possible? if so I would love to know how many of us would find that a valuable update.
That is something definitely to consider. And with our new convertor module it might be even feasible to do but we have to see if we can implement it.
The problem with the desktop apps currently is that are are many choices of Desktop apps runtimes. Like Electron, Tauri and combinations like Capacitor + Electron.
In Wappler as desktop apps we currently support Capacitor + Electron, but unfortunately it is not getting outdated as it is not getting much attention from the Capacitor teams as it is community driven implementation.
So we will have to improve our desktop apps support first and then we can make easier convertors to it.
