With AI becoming an increasingly important part of creative work and Wappler's future roadmap, I’m conducting research to better understand how people in creative and creative-tech communities experience and use (generative) AI.
I’m a Master’s student and for my thesis I’m researching how people in creative and creative-tech spaces navigate (generative) AI, including how it affects things such as workflows, creativity, motivation and discourse about the future of (creative) work.
Since many people here work at the intersection of creativity and development, I’d love to hear your perspective whether you actively use AI tools, feel skeptical about them or avoid them altogether.
I’m looking for people who work, freelance, study, or create as hobbyists in creative fields like design, development, digital media, game design, writing, and any related areas.
Good luck with your thesis @Sofie ! It’s an important topic—AI affects not just creatives but all of dev and deployment. With the AI bubble growing, we need better control and clearer understanding of the risks we’re willing to take.
I’ve answered the questions. Unfortunately, my spoken English isn’t good enough to discuss AI fluently, otherwise I would have been happy to participate in the interview. I’m currently not only actively using products like ChatGPT, but also trying to set up systems on my own hardware. It’s a very interesting topic, and I hope it will be of great help to me.
That’s very interesting work - I’d be interested to keep a tab on your progress, would you mind posting back to this forum when you have any updates? I’m sure others will find it interesting too - especially with regard to pricing, some of the pricing options I’ve seen have been massively expensive.
Of course I’ll share my progress. I’ve already posted a couple of times on this topic, but mostly about the issues I’ve encountered. So far, I’ve found that VLLM isn’t suitable for use with Wappler. I’ll try other methods. My goal is to get AI working with Wappler using 1 or 2 RTX PRO 6000 96GB cards. That’s because using ChatGPT and other paid systems turned out to be very expensive. I’d like to save some money I’ll definitely share my experience later.
